Privacy Policy

• Google account information. When a parent signs in with Google, we receive the account's basic profile: name, email address, profile photo, and a unique account identifier. We use it to identify your family's account and display it in the parent area.
• YouTube data (read-only). With your permission, the app requests read-only access to your YouTube account (the youtube.readonly scope) solely to list your own YouTube playlists so you can choose which ones your children may watch, and to search for channels to follow. VideoNook never modifies anything in your YouTube account.
• Content selections. The playlists you select, channels you follow, videos you share into the app, and a salted hash of your parent PIN are stored on our server so they sync across your devices. The PIN itself never leaves your device.

• No data about children. Children do not have accounts and are not asked for any personal information.
• No advertising identifiers, no analytics profiles, no location data.
• No passwords — sign-in happens entirely through Google.

Data is used only to operate the app: authenticating the parent, listing the parent's playlists, and syncing the approved library across the family's devices. We do not sell data, show ads, or share data with third parties, except as required to operate the service (our server is hosted on Amazon Web Services in the EU, region eu-west-1).

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data — including Google user data (your Google account profile and your YouTube data) — to anyone, and we never share, transfer or disclose it for advertising, marketing or profiling purposes.

• Service providers (hosting and network). Google user data is shared only with the infrastructure providers that operate the service on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (our server and database are hosted in the EU, region eu-west-1) and Cloudflare (the network proxy that carries encrypted traffic between the app and our server). They process the data solely to provide hosting and network services to us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose data if we are required to do so by law, regulation or a valid legal process (for example, a court order).
• Business transfers. If VideoNook is ever involved in a merger, acquisition or transfer of the service, your data may be transferred to the successor; this policy will continue to apply and the change will be announced on this page.

Apart from the cases above, we do not share, transfer or disclose Google user data to any other third party. No human reads this data except when necessary for security or abuse investigations, to comply with the law, or with your explicit consent for support purposes.

VideoNook uses YouTube API Services. By using the app you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

VideoNook's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke VideoNook's access to your Google/YouTube data at any time from the Google security settings page.

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Parent Area → Settings → Delete Account); this permanently removes your account and all associated data (selections, followed channels, shared videos, and the PIN hash) from our server. You can also request deletion by email.

Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted with TLS. Access tokens for YouTube are used on-device; our server never receives your Google password.

VideoNook is designed for parents to curate content for their children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. All account features belong to the parent and are protected by the parent PIN.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
